Situated in the heart of Old Québec on Cap Diamant and overlooking the majestic St Lawrence River, the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac is the uncontested symbol for Québec City around the world.
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac opened its doors on December 18, 1893. A section of the original building was rebuilt in 1926 after a fire, following its original plans. Over the years, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac has had many changes and additions, the last of which was completed in 1993 for its Centennial.

This Romantic Palace offers six food & beverage outlets to include Le Champlain, a stately AAA/CAA Four Diamonds dining room overlooking the St Lawrence River. The freshest of local ingredients marry the flavors of the past with the sophistication of the present. The lobster, queen scallop and scampis served with a coffee sabayon and seaweed holds court with the lasagna of sweetbreads, sage and liquorice amidst elegant and plush surroundings. To add to the variety and innovative approach are frequent gastronomy festivals. Continually being renewed, this formula enables guests to enjoy an enriching experience and also helps to diversify menus and enjoy cultural exchange between chefs from various regions around the world.

These days one lucky dog is getting the royal treatment
that is the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac's Canine Ambassador - a beautiful dog named Santol.
To create a unique welcome and lasting memories to their guests, Fairmont Le Château Frontenac introduced Santol in June of 2007 as part of their Guest Services Team. The hotel's Dog Ambassador is readily available in the hotel lobby to meet and greet guests, accompany them on walks, or simply be around for a bit of petting.
Québec City is as much beautiful as it is romantic, but when paired with the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac the romance reaches a new level.
